I’ve written a story. It’s a novel—a short novel, as I don’t care for long novels. If you like long novels, this might not be your cup of tea, but you could also read it really, really slow, so as to give the effect of it being a long novel. The name of it is Entity MS.
Initially I was going to spend the next ten years seeing if I could get an agent to represent my novel, then have the agent spend the next ten years of both our lives looking for someone who might publish it, but my proclivity towards immediacy cancelled that idea. I then considered publishing it myself, as this not only satisfied my sense of immediacy, but also had the potential for me to become hundreds of dollars richer (once the initial $2,000 investment was covered). I studied up extensively on the subject of self-publishing and all its aspects—such as marketing and other things that produce income—and eventually came to the conclusion that it was way too much work. So, that was out.
Thus I’ve chosen to put it on my website here for free. It will be serialized; I’ll post one chapter every day by 7pm starting on February 1st. There are twenty-five chapters, each about ten pages-long on average. So, if you’d like to go on sort of literary cruise through the month of February, I welcome you.
